MPH Fibers

MyPHor has its own range of Macro structural synthetic fibers, micro synthetic fibers and metal fibers for the world of concrete. The new range of approved and certified structural macro fibers, allow the replacement of metal meshes and reinforcements, in applications of screeds, precast concrete and shotcrete for civil and underground engineering, as well as for mining. We have the right fiber for each application and we technically advise our clients about the fiber’s correct use.

The use of fibers in construction dates way back. The adobe, base material for construction in the ancient world, consisted of a mixture of a “clay” binder with a web of filaments, normally straw. With the appearance of Portland cement and reinforced concrete later, these techniques fell into disuse. However, thanks to the development of new materials, the construction sector has rescued and adapted the old three-dimensional arming systems, with new materials, which make getting the most out of an assembly of the construction element in all its volume, a homogeneous assembly, possible.

MyPHor Synthetic Fibers

The new developments in polymers have allowed us to obtain a range of structural synthetic fibers to replace traditional metal reinforcements. From several points of view such as durability, safety, carbon footprint or environmental impact, speed in construction, weight per unit volume and, of course, the final cost of construction, they are more advantageous solutions.

!

Saving

MyPHor structural synthetic fibers represent a considerable saving, compared to traditional reinforcement solutions, or even compared to solutions based on metal fibers, both for their cost per construction unit, and for their lower subsequent maintenance

!

Performance

MyPHor structural synthetic fibers solutions, allow to obtain the same benefits as other traditional reinforcement solutions, in work units such as screeds, shotcrete, precast concrete, etc.

!

Safety

The use and handling of MyPHor synthetic fibers do not entail health or safety risks. They are chemically inert fibers, and unlike metal fibers, there is no risk of punctures by the personnel who manipulates them, or those who will later work on the structure.

!

Longlasting

One of the major concerns in reinforced concrete is its durability; to guarantee a demanding durability, an amount of thickness of reinforced coating and, compact and waterproof concrete, are necessary. Concrete solutions reinforced with structural synthetic fibers, allow for these problems to be eliminated, since synthetic fibers do not oxidize or deteriorate. Therefore it is a reinforced concrete with extended durability.

!

Weight

Since the ratio of weights between solutions with synthetic reinforcement, and those with metallic reinforcement (meshes or metallic fibers) with similar strenght, is around 1/6, synthetically reinforced structures have a lower weight. The density of synthetic fibers is 8.5 times lower than that of iron.

!

Environment

The carbon footprint is smaller. The equivalent tons of CO2 for a synthetic reinforcement, at equal pay, are around 9 times lower, compared to metal mesh or fibers.

The range of MyPHor structural synthetic macro fibers, provide concrete with all the advantages of metal reinforcement, without any of its disadvantages. A three-dimensional and homogeneous assembly throughout the concrete volume, with better distribution of stresses, and without the need to meet minimum coatings to ensure durability, while being more environmentally friendly

With the advances in construction chemistry, new materials that allow replacing traditional metal fibers have been obtained. The mechanical capabilities provided by steel can be obtained, but with lighter and safer materials, which also offer additional advantages such as the zero risk of oxidation and deterioration and, therefore, provide greater durability to the designed structure. Thanks to the physical-chemical treatments in its manufacturing process, fiber-concrete adhesion is optimal. The fiber is already widely used in gunning tunnels, slopes, screeds, slabs, and in prefabricated structures, providing strength and ductility.

Elasticity Module

MyPHor fibers are the ones with the largest Module in the market, above 20 GPa, thanks to an internationally patented system.

Tensile strength

MyPHor fibers have a tensile strength superior to traditional construction iron, which is between 400 and 500 MPa.

%

Weight reduction

MyPHor synthetic fibers, with a density 1/8 against iron, are usually substituted in a proportion 1/6 against this, so there is a clear decrease in the weight of the assembly.

%

Longlasting

Without risk of being wrong, we can say that a metal reinforced concrete will always have less durability than another synthetically reinforced under the same conditions. Welcome to concrete with extended durability.

%

Oxidation

Since synthetic fibers are not susceptible to oxidation, there is no need to worry about the usual measures taken to protect a structure. No coatings are required to ensure non-oxidation of the assembly.

 MyPHor Synthetic Fibers

MyPHor has a range of Macro synthetic fibers depending on the use and type of concrete to be used, as well as Micro polypropylene fibers. Being the first company to supply synthetic fibers with Spanish manufacturing has given us enormous experience. Let us advise you on the most suitable fibers for your particular use.

MPH FiberPlus 60

It is the longest structural synthetic fiber we supply. Especially indicated when looking for high performance, especially at high deformations. Indicated uses for shotcrete and precast concrete.

MPH FiberPlus 48

The most common structural synthetic fiber used for its versatility. For both shotcrete (tunnels and mining), and for the world of precast concrete.

MPH Fiber P50

Fiber specially designed for concrete pavements and roads. Its special configuration minimizes the risk of surface upwelling of fibers in the processes of fratasado and polishing.

MPH Fiber P36

Fiber specially designed for concrete pavements and roads. Its special configuration minimizes the risk of surface upwelling of fibers in the processes of fratasado and polishing.

MPH Fiber 31

Polypropylene micro fiber. With a small amount of micro fiber, the effects of early cracking are minimized, causing premature drying and plastic retraction by drying. Especially suitable for large areas exposed to wind and heat during execution. Also suitable for passive fire protection in tunnel liners.

Endurance test in concrete with synthetic fibers

An easy and quick way to understand what fibers can add is to perform an accelerated assay on disintegration. The difference between mass concrete, micro-fiber reinforced concrete and macro-fiber reinforced concrete, is shown.
