The use of fibers in construction comes from afar. The adobe, base material for construction in the ancient world, consisted of a mixture of a “clay” binder with a web of filaments, normally straw. With the appearance of Portland cement and later the reinforced concrete, these techniques fell into disuse. However, thanks to the development of new materials, the construction sector has rescued and adapted the old three-dimensional arming systems, with new materials, which make it possible to get the most out of a homogeneous assembly of the construction element in all its volume.

MyPHor Synthetic Fibers

The new developments in polymers have allowed us to obtain a range of structural synthetic fibers to replace traditional metal reinforcements. Regarding durability, safety, carbon footprint or environmental impact, speed of execution, weight per unit volume and, of course, the final cost of construction, they are a more advantageous solutions.

Saving

MyPHor structural synthetic fibers represent a considerable saving compared to traditional reinforcement solutions, or even compared to solutions based on metal fibers, both for their cost per construction unit, and for their lower subsequent maintenance.

Performance

The solutions with MyPHor structural synthetic fibers, allow to obtain the same benefits as other traditional reinforcement solutions, in work units such as screeds, shotcrete, precast concrete, etc.

MyPHor fibers are the ones with the largest Module in the market, above 20 GPa, thanks to an internationally patented system.

Safety

The use and handling of MyPHor synthetic fibers do not entail health or safety risks. They are chemically inert fibers, and unlike metal fibers, there is no risk of punctures by the personnel who manipulates them, or those who will later work on the structure.

Durability

One of the major concerns in reinforced concrete is its durability; to guarantee a demanding durability, an amount of thickness of reinforced coating and, compact and waterproof concrete, are necessary. Concrete solutions reinforced with structural synthetic fibers, allow for these problems to be eliminated, since synthetic fibers do not oxidize or deteriorate. Therefore it is a reinforced concrete with extended durability.

Weight

Since the ratio of weights between solutions with synthetic reinforcement, and those with metallic reinforcement (meshes or metallic fibers) with similar strenght, is around 1/6, synthetically reinforced structures have a lower weight. The density of synthetic fibers is 8.5 times lower than that of iron.

Environment

The carbon footprint is smaller. The equivalent tons of CO2 for a synthetic reinforcement, at equal pay, are around 9 times lower, compared to metal mesh or fibers.

The range of MyPHor structural synthetic macro fibers, provide concrete with all the advantages of metal reinforcement, without any of its disadvantages. A three-dimensional and homogeneous assembly throughout the concrete volume, with better distribution of stresses, and without the need to meet minimum coatings to ensure durability, while being more environmentally friendly

Photocatalytic coatings use the properties of a process called photocatalysis, which is a natural phenomenon in which a substance uses the energy of light to eliminate pollutants and harmful compounds.
MyPHor´s photocatalytic coatings and products, manage to transform the polluting substances, viruses, bacteria and fungi that are in the environment, into harmless materials.

Anti-pick-up additives for projected concrete, both accelerators and rheology modifiers, and additives that improve early and final performance, as well as impermeability. We continue to incorporate new developments based on the increasingly demanding needs of our customers into our range.

MPH SC 15 is a liquid additive with a 15% solids content, based on colloidal silica with rheological and pozzolanic effect, alternative to microsilica / silica fume. For applications such as projected, structural, high performance, high strength, self compacting and grout concrete, It’s ratio is 1% – 2% of the weight of the cementitious material.

MPH SC 30 is a liquid additive with a 30% solids content, based on colloidal silica with rheological and pozzolanic effect, alternative to microsilica / silica fume. For applications such as projected, structural, high performance, high strength, self compacting and grout concrete, It’s ratio is 0.5% – 1.5% of the weight of the cementitious material.

MPH POLYMER AF5 is a high-performance, alkali-free accelerating setting additive for application in concretes and projected mortars.

MPH POLYMER A73 is a high performance accelerating setting additive, for its application in concretes and projected mortars.

MPH Polymer AD is a rheological modifier, thixotropic, whose main function is the reduction of rejection in projected concrete.
